Default Re: Anyone call this cocky guy?

Do you know ICM? If not, take a look at the FAQ. Run this through and see what your equity is if you lose all your chips vs. double up vs. fold.

The reason people are telling you to push is that it's very difficult to correctly call someone in this situation because if you lose you get nothing, but if you win, you don't improve your overall equity enough to compensate for the risk you are taking. If you go all-in, you put him in the quandry he's putting you in.

What makes the call hard is specifically that there are four people left, and one of the four has a small stack. What you want to have happen, in order, are:

1)Two other people go at each other.
2)You win a confrontation without a showdown.
3)You are called and win a confrontation.

Pushing gives you the best chance of not being called. So if you have to get involved, push.

AK is such a strong hand, you might be able to get away with calling here, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if calling is a negative expectation play here. Go through the ICM and find out! The FAQ will explain how, and understanding these concepts is crucial.
