Secondly, as soon as he bets you should have re-raised him more and pushed the turn. I have no idea how you could fold this. You even have quads/boat to a redraw in case he has the nuts right now. I agree. That's my usual line but I thought he was a bit tight and would fold to a bet. I thought checking might at least induce a continuation bet which I could raise.

I assumed he was tight but obviously 8 hands isn't enough of a sample to make that determination.
