When I was in grade school (you know, when you are in the same class all day) I had a method I enjoyed.

I would scoot my chair back a bit and rest my forehead on my hands, which were layed on the edge of the desk. This allowed me plenty of room to pick and conceal myself at the same time. Or at least I thought I was concealed.
