I don't think it is a bad situation. You have position on both and it will be important to use it to not only isolate your buddy lister but the tag who will be trying to make isolation plays with a wide range of hands. Once the tag catches on to what your doing you will have to keep switching gears to keep him off balance. If you're not willing to take on the tag then move on because he will beat you to the punch to often.
