MLH has to be taken with a dose of salt; there is some bad weak-tight advice in there. At the same time its section on over cards is very good, you just need to weed through the errors because games with opponents that tight/good just don't exist at the mid levels anymore.
SSII is SSHE reworked (and poorly at that). It’s a good quick refresher course with some shorthanded style mentality thrown in, but other than that it’s not that great.
I highly recommend Byron Jacob's How Good is your Limit Hold'em. Nobody can say a bad thing about it, Mr. Miller just gave it a 10, and I would agree.
