Default Re: Bellagio Poker deposit boxes?? Best way to manage large BR there?

[ QUOTE ]
So I'm going to stay at the Bellagio in a few weeks, and this will be my first time in a B&M cardroom since I moved up to the 30/60 and higher games.

I figure that I'll likely want access to at least $5,000 to $10,000 while I'm there. And I don't want to really be walking around with that money, nor leave it in my room, since I'll really have no use for it outside of the poker room.

I frequently see people who get chips from what appears to be their own personal deposit box in the poker room money cage. How do these work? Can I just ask for one when I get there? Is there a minimum amount you must put in there for them to give you one? (I assume they're free).

Any other tips for managing a large-ish bankroll while I'm there??

I have been told that there is a waiting list for these boxes, although I don't know how true that is. If you're really not comfortable at all carrying around cash, then call the main casino cage and ask about the logistics of wiring the money to them. You can then sign for markers as you need the cash, and you will be given chips. I am not sure if you can redeposit with the cage at the end of each day, but you can easily color up to a large denomination chip. A small number of chips is easier to hide than is cash.

That being said, you aren't going to be able to totally avoid carrying a large sum of cash on your person if you plan to play live poker. Do as another poster suggested and buy one of those cash pouches. I will often hide my poker stake in places like an obscure pocket, and I always keep a small number of bills in my wallet or front pocket with which to satisfy any unsavory characters whom I might encounter. I would suggest that you do the same.
