Are my raises committing me to the hands?
$550+55 buy-in prima 1st = $3000, 2nd = $1200, 3rd = $800, 4th = $500
7 left blinds 50/100
villain 1900
Hero 4500
1st hand
Reads: table reasonably tight, villain has been quite quiet he likes to min-raise but so had a lot of players at this table. I had got lucky a couple of times but had played quite tight and aggressive, i had recently just re-raised and check/raised and won a couple of good hands.
folds round to button
button min-raises to 200
sb folds
hero calls with ad 9s
flop comes 9d 8h 2s pot 450
hero checks
villain bets 200
hero raises to 600
villain re-raises all-in to 1700
pot = 2750 hero has to call 1100
hero's action???
2nd hand
5 left blinds 75/150
due to bubble everyone playing tight, people are min-raising a lot but big blinds are calling them a lot too.
stacks
player 1 3800
player 2 4500
Hero 2500
player 3 3000
villain (different one to first hand) 1100
folded round to hero on button
hero raises 450 with 2d 2h
sb folds
bb goes all-in for 1200
pot 1725 hero has to call 750
i think i had to call the second one, i knew going into it that i probably had to call so really didnt want to see that re-raise.
The first one i think might be a fold, chances of overpair are more likely than a hand i beat, however the pot odds might be ok and the chance to get a big stack, would be very advantageous with the payout structure.
any thoughts?
