Default Re: Poker/tax accountant

JV,

The local association of CPA's in your state should be able to give you some names of people who specialize. Each state's association is named differently (e.g. in MD it's Maryland Assoc. of CPA's - MACPA) so do a google seach on CPA and your state's name. The association should be near the top.

BTW, as regards "I need someone who I can explain my situation to confidentially without worrying about being turned in or red flagged." keep in mind that while CPA's have ethical obligations to keep your information confidential in almost all cases, they do not have the same level of client priviledge that attorneys enjoy. A CPA can be forced to testify against a client in court in certain circumstances. If absolute confidentially is a concern, go to a tax attorney.
