The 20% structure makes a 3 table finish like 25/1500 worth about .1% (of the prize pool) less (.45% vs. .35%) whereas a 50/1500 is only worth .04 (.25 vs .29%) less. So the higher your finish, the more in comparison you lose to the structure.

Neither place is necessarily a limper finish. I think one can take a respectable run at 1st and chance into one of these places. My problem, as a frequent micro player is, while yes ,I'm cashing nominally when I bust at 15% of the field, it's not making up for the fact that I'm making less money when I make my "normal" cashes. I have to place higher to make the same amount of money because the bottom tier of the new structure is making the difference between the old 25/1500 and the new 25/1500. While this is not an exorbitant amount of money, NONE of this is, so every little bit counts.

Does this line of reasoning hold water?
