Default Re: chasing disguised draws-when strength is shown

When the situation is right you certainly can chase based on implied odds.

There a few keys to identify good opportunities for this...

a) Your opponent should have a decent hand he'll hesitate to lay down or he's a calling station.

b) Your draw should give you the best hand... don't get into a situation where the card that makes your hand also makes his, but his could be better. For example drawing on a three flush board when your single suited card is low in value making it easy for him to beat you flush over flush.

c) Understand the odds of chasing certain hands such as flush draws, OESD, so you can decide what the pot is laying you now and what you need to get from your opponent should you make your hand. (Typically you want to do this in situations where stacks are deep and you can put him all-in and get a call).

d)Your hand should be somewhat hidden. A board of 567 with 2 spades is not a board you really want to draw into. A scare card could make an opponent slow down or fold.
