I really have no explanation the thing is she regularly has her finger nails painted and shows me them afterwards, also being definitly chinese she's always posing with the peace sign in photos, which obviously involves the middle finger.

This sounds very likely. I suspect for some reason she has to take it off when entering a place of worship or something like that.
