Brian Alspach claims to be fallible, but the errors he makes are few and far between. The number of straight flush hands decreases as the high card proceeds from a seven to an ace. There are 4,324 straight flushes in which the highest card is an ace. The computations are explained here: http://www.math.sfu.ca/~alspach/comp20/.
