Default pot builders w/ suited connectors pf?

hey guys this thought came to mind when i saw experienced high stakes player come into a nl 200 game at a casino and LAG the heck out of it. he turned 100 into 500 within an hour and left.

one play i remember off hand that he made a few times was a 2x BB raise pf. normally when i see someone do that I think its the donkiest move ever - but I noticed he did it once with a 22 and a 69s. both times there were a number of limpers in the pot already (and he also hit big hands both times)

what do you guys think about making those 2x BB raises w. hands like 22, 33, 44, 55, and suited connectors when there are a lot of limpers already in and the chance of you being 'limp-raised' is extremely low.

these hands you look to see cheap flops and hit big hands or fold immediately (unless your suited connectors pick up a big draw, that is)

so what do ya;ll think? bad play? -ev?
