Default Re: Show one, show all rule

As mentioned in another response Robert's Rules is the traditional interpretation of "Show one, show all". But a month ago I was playing at Hollywood Park Casino in LA and from another table heard someone argue "Show one card, show both". I mentioned to a neighbor that this was silly and wrong but soon learned that this interpretation was in fact added to the cardroom rules.

Frankly I think it's a good rule. Sure sometimes the information you give with the one card shown is generous, as your case was. But sometimes it is simply taunting. What if the flop comes AKT, you bet the other guy folds and you show the 9. That's kinda classless and the show one show all rule prevents it. All the "I'll show you one" showboating crap is prevented.

Later I spoke with Hollywood Park Shift Manager Steve Iino and learned this was exactly the reason for the rule. Agree it's a good rule.
