I think it would have been a misclick if you didn't 3-bet preflop...
I think you should check call the turn and a non ace river. Your bet on the turn certainly isn't folding out a better hand, and he may bluff with stuff that he would of folded. Also, getting raised by his somewhat often king sucks. I don't think giving a free card is all that bad, considering the benefits of checking.
