I have a Logitech MX1000 and 3 monitors that are side by side by side...I have the pointer speed set so that I don't even move my wrist when moving the mouse; you can move from end to end with just your fingertips. And I don't even have it set at the highest setting. It takes some getting used to because it's so sensitive, but after a day or two you will be a pro. It's waaaay easier on your wrist.

When the batteries on that mouse die, I am forced to use a crappy old mouse and experience the problem you have. I definitely agree that it sucks big time.

So, I would recommend you get a new mouse that allows you to manage pointer speed and acceleration.
