Default Re: butchered live hand: TPMK in the blinds with 8 to the flop

[ QUOTE ]
Raising the flop doesn't really protect my hand, and I don't really see how it's for value. I'm behind reasonable MP king hands 10 ways, tied 2 and behind 6. I guess I can fold the turn UI if I get three bet. Is that it?

[/ QUOTE ]

MP could be betting a lot of things that you beat: a worse king, a straight draw, middle pair (something like A9). We don't have nearly enough information to narrow his range to just top pair.

So a flop raise is for value.

Also, by raising you are laying 12:2 == 6:1 to people calling behind you. This means someone calling with a gutshot or a 9 or a 2 is making a mistake.

Donk the turn with the intention of folding to a raise?

[/ QUOTE ]

It depends on how many people are left and what the turn actually is, but i'm calling down a lot of the time.

Btw, if you weren't planning on getting aggressive when you hit top pair with KJo, why are you playing it in the first place?
