It seemed some responders agreed with Ciaffone and would flat-call here.

Against some players, I am happy to get my chips in. Against others, a call or raise behind me leaves me with a sick feeling.

He agrees it is player dependent and basically acquires information in addition to defining his hand.
I know you open yourself up to action behind you, but I can't see how I don't raise here on a short or deep stack. If deep and it gets popped back, my stomach turns and I've got another decision to make.
I do understand the argument against though.
