Default Re: How Does Derb Play?

[ QUOTE ]
the general 'how does he play' is loose aggressive. plays many more hands than usual (liberal cold-calling with hands in late position that might be dominated), raises many more hands than usual, and makes regular plays for the pot like heads up threebets on the turn with far from stellar holdings. such tactics are not popular online, even in moderation, because the 'anonymous' and hyper-aggressive nature of the games promotes liberal calldowns.

I pretty much agree with this general assessment. A couple of quirks I've noticed are:

He doesn't attempt to steal blinds as much as you'd expect given his loose aggressive nature, but he defneds his own blinds liberally.

He seems to play really tight and straightforward in multiway pots, but he often gets out of line heads up.

When he has been betting the whole way, he'll often just automatically bet the river. Even in situations where it seems very apparant that no worse hand will call and no better hand will fold.

He'll get out of line with loose/speculative/bluffy raises on the flop and the turn, but not really on the river. On the river he seems to bet very liberally and call very liberally though.

Preflop, when you break his stats down by position, he seems to open nearly as many pots in early position as he does in middle or late. UTG raises with Axo, Q8s and the like aren't uncommon.
