I think it would be pretty difficult for even an elite runner to go out and run a 4:30 every day for 26 days. Back when I was in good shape I ran a 4:01 1500 which equates to about a 4:20 mile, and doing a 4:30 definitely wasn't easy for me. It was almost as tough and exhausting as doing a 4:20. Even if the criterion for me were upped to 4:45 I probably couldn't have lasted much more than week at this without major fatigue and serious risk of injury.
