I doubt they'd even accept a letter from your bank explaining that the debit card is just that and is gone. I think you're screwed.

Go to the bank and kick the old guy in line in the nuts. Then kick the teller in her nuts. Then kick the other teller in her nuts. Then kick the security guy in the nuts before he can shoot you. Then kick the bank manager in the nuts. Then kick yourself in the nuts and kick the cops in the nuts if they get there before you kick yourself in the nuts again.
