But once they do the cards are exposed to everyone at the table, not passed around to only those people who were there at showdown.

Show one, show all is one of the most basic rules of poker. Bad policy on AP's part.

Ethics question: if two players are telling each other their opponents' mucked cards during the game, but not otherwise colluding, are they cheating?
