Default Re: Not betting the nuts...Is this common anywhere else?

I'm not sure how common it is, but I saw some of the same (giving up potential winnings) in the no-limit game at Motor City in Detroit when I was there in December. I watched the no-limit (2-5) table for about an hour while I waited for a 50-200 (1-2NL) seat, and at least a couple times saw people just show the nuts (AK on a QJT rainbow flop is one I remember) rather than betting. Why anyone would do such a thing is beyond me, particularly when so many at the table seemed so willing to pay off with second-best or worse (JT vs T6 on a 987 flop, for instance).
