I think a check on the flop is fine. It allows your opponent to catch up a bit. I raise the river. I may get called my a lower PP or a 6. Are you really that worried about quads, AA or 66? Sure these hands happen but they are highly unlikely. If my opponent comes back over the top I am likely to call & I expect a split pot. I certainly wouldn't re-re-re-raise.
