Default Re: Tipping the floor in cardroom

This makes little sense to me to suggest that Floors should be allowed to take tokes becuase they aren't making decisions with house money.

The casino can protect itself from a floor by firing him if they think he is making decisons against the house in favor of a player simply because the player is toking him.

A poker player does not have the option of firing the floor person who they think is biased.

Allowing the floor to take tokes creates at the very least an appearance of impropriety, and I have seen Floor people make biased decisions -- not the major ones . . . just the little grey areas that always seem to go in favor of the regular player who takes care of everybody.

I certainly don't disagree with you that the floor should be making more money. It seems to me quite bizarre that dealers make more than floormen in many rooms. But to me allowing the floorman to take tips from players would be like allowing Umpires to takes tips from baseball teams. Even if the Umpire calls the game straight . . . It stinks.
