Easy. Because there are dozens of films better than it.
Off the top of my head, and I'm avoiding the really, really good films; wizard of oz, american psycho, road warrior, doctor no, ghostbusters, kiss me deadly, the contender... I'm just dipping here.
I'm not saying fight club isn't a good or even great film, but it's not even close to the best.
