Why? People who try to hit and run are usually bad and produce action. Often they will keep pulling out hundred after hundred if they get cracked too. So what if someone parlays $400 in $2000 and leaves. That's life (and also, I've found this to be exceedingly rare). I personally have no problem with the buy-in rules since I don't buy short. But I think if someone gets cracked for, say, $6000 in the yellow game and they only have $1000 left, they should CERTAINLY get a shot to put it in play. They will probably give it away anyway. And if they get lucky and build it up, that's poker (plus they will prob continue playing badly trying to get even which may tilt others and contribute to the game's overall action). If you make them leave if they can't produce $2000, they might not come back to donate more money.

I just don't get why people get upset about hit and run in a public cardroom.
