1) I'm like you in that I don't really dig the musky stuff. I prefer the "fresh" or "sporty" scents. Right now I mostly use
DKNY for men. Just go to Bloomingdales and sample a few. If you have a woman now bring her along and get her opinion as well.
2) I wear a little cologne/aftershave just about every day, for work or when going out. It seems to bring a fair amount of complements from women, so I guess that's good. Of course I don't know how many people are harboring ill feelings because of my stench, but as long as they don't tell me about it I'll assume all is well.
