Default Re: Tourney Blind/Chip Help...

For the middle rounds, did you mean 100-200, 150-300, 200-400 and 250-500?

It's pretty easy to figure out how many chips you need, the trick is telling how many chips you need after coloring up:

I'll usually figure out how many chips I need per player. For example, let's say you start with $1500 chips (8x$25 + 8x$100 + 1x$500 = $1500).

After the first color up, the 8x$25 will be replaced by 2x$100, so for each player you have 10x$100+1x$500 = $1500.

After the second color up, the 10x$100 in play will be replaced by 2x$500, so now you'll just have 3x$500 = $1500.

So, for each player you'll need 8x$25, 10x$100 and 3x$500. Then for a ten player tournament you'll need 80/100/30, for a 16 player tournament you'll need 128/160/48, etc. Unless you really want to introduce a higher-value chip or start with more chips, I've found you can get by with just the 3 colors/denoms.
