Not carding is a very serious restaurant offense. Obviously not carding a 25 year old is not going to get the restaurant fined, however, restaurant management put that NARC policy in place to cover their butts and will not be happy with a server potentially getting them fined and a liquor license taken away.
People get fired for a lot less.

I actually covered this in another post. No, a waiter should not be fired for failing to card 25 year olds.
Think about it; you're on a date. Is getting carded +EV on a date? At a bar, sure, EVERYONE is carded. At a restaurant it is annoying.
I agree with the poster that said those who work(ed) in food industry vote dick; those who haven't said screw the waiter.
