The exact email I received on Sept. 7th of this year when I asked them about that:
"Hi,
Kindly note that if the player does not click on the link directly (and clicks it after checking the other links), the player might not get tracked to you. The tracking system at Party Poker is based on the tracking URL and not on the cookie system thus the download should happen from your link.
