Just to clarify this, if you check this turn he's always betting the river with his holding, irregardless of whether its a worse hand, or sometimes better hand. If you bet the turn, he's folding the worse hand and only c/ring with the better hand. The turn check means you see a showdown and get the same amount of bets.
