So you took your read and went with it. Its not a bad way to go. The only problem i have with the line is the overcard (Q) on the turn, the donky line usually comes with fewer overs, so i don't know if hands like 66 (i don't remmeber the board, so just whatever PP would fit that didn't set up) or 78 or something are less likely to donk once the second face card comes up.
In all i would guess its a slightly losing play in this specific instance, but hte overall shania (not getting donk bet on rivers so much, more people calling your river riases) could overcome that. maybe.
