I lived on campus my freshman year and immediately moved downtown for the rest of school. Henrietta/campus area blows (it's gotta be in the bottom 10 worst campus areas for a big school). Downtown, however, is fun. All my friends lived downtown and we seriously ran our part of the city. We knew all the cops, the homeless people, the shop keepers, the club owners (most important), all that stuff. So we lived pretty well and partied alllll the time. It was a very far cry from a normal college party scene (we were all into clubbing and throwing huge raves at our house) but a good time nonetheless. I would recommend anyone in Rochester move downtown immediately.
