I'm going to take a guess...
When someone offers a bet at even money on a game, and gives a piont differential, they're making up for the higher likelihood of the favoured team winning by handicapping them in the wager.
Therefore at a +14.5 bet at even money for one team, when you buy a half point, they only have to win by 14 points to get your money back?
Just curious if this is correct.
If it is, how much did you have to pay for your half point?
