It's hard to imagine where a crying call can be correct against more than one player no matter what the action is.
Even if you're only calling a single bet, overcalling is probably wrong if you feel you're very likely beat. Additionally, calling a bet with possible overcallers behind would also be incorrect if you feel you're very likely beat.
