Spirited Away is not only just plain great, it is very rewatchable, which argues for owning it. It's very metaphorical, moody, and lyrical. There's a heck of a lot going on visually. There are a heck of a lot of mood changes and much is suggested or left to its own discovery instead of pounded home and made obvious or flat. It's hard even to imagine getting the most out of it you could without a good number of viewings.

I [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] this movie. I went to a preview screeening a good 6 months before its US release, and I was scared Disney would screw it up. This was my one experience in a focus group, and it taught me that focus groups are full of idiots and recommend the wrong goddam poster.

I worked up a surprising amount of angst over something that truly didn't affect me in the slightest. I guess that means the movie's good.
