Therefore, I'm not calling on the basis of pot-odds, but on the odds that I have him beat when none of the obvious draws come in and I don't spike a pair + the odds that I suck out.

I understand. At this point, I don't think I'm good enough to be able to come to that conclusion on my own. If I had made this call now (at my present skill and understanding), it'd probably be because I wasn't thinking at all (or hit the wrong button).
