sure you do. but it doesn't mean you have to do it. when you're taking a shot you should not be playing the same as you do in your regular game. you should be avoiding situations with huge variance and not much expectation like 3-betting 5 players with 88. it seems like you're only investing 1 SB, but the straddler capped without looking, so all of a sudden it's a 28 SB pot, which will cause you to have to either call with very little postflop or take extreme measures to protect your hand postflop.
