Zevon made a really great cameo on the Larry Sanders show. He was bitching to Artie, the producer, about how Larry never let him play any new stuff, he always made him play Werewolves of London, and he was SICK of playing Werewolves of London. So Artie assures him he can play anything he wants. So he does. Then of course Larry says, "Hey, Warren how 'bout that song Werewolves of London? I love that song? How 'bout you guys (to the audience), do you want to hear Werewolves of London?" Everybody cheers, so of course Warren plays it, but he gives a look of pure, unadulterated hatred that was just priceless. I laughed and laughed....
He was one of a kind. Well, him and Randy Newman, but Warren was darker.
