I understand that it would be "going against the table", but isn't it a long term winner to bet the "Don't Pass" line once a point is made? Especially if the point is a 4, 5, 9, or 10 where the edge on rolling a 7 is quite large?

It's also a long term winner to place your roulette bets after the ball has stopped, but the house won't let you do that either.

It's certainly been done. Many teams in the past have placed bets after the fact and gotten away with it. There's also the move of taking back larger bets (after they lose) and replacing them with smaller bets. These don't work too well anymore after being exposed in a few books.

These moves will also get you arrested if you get caught. Capping and pinching bets and past posting are cheating, pure and simple.
