Calling raises from the blinds is generally not a good idea. If you're going to call a raise from the blinds with a drawing hand then you want to see more players in the pot.
Generally you lead with a strong hand. Checking to the raiser with the intention of re-raising may work, but is not preferred (see SSH) way to play a strong hand without a read.
When you call villains weak lead bet what kind of hand do you think he puts you on?
The problem I have with your play is letting villain see the turn and river for $20 when you know any overcard (like the T) can kill you. Is villain looking for a free card when he checks behind on the turn or is he inducing a bluff?
I'd say he's looking for a free card because there's nothing there for you to represent a bluff. When you bet the pot at the river I have to put you squarely on a 7. He probably doesn't have a read on you either so I don't see how he can call.
