Are you sure Aretha didn't write at least some of her stuff? "Respect" was written by Otis Redding (aka the Master of the Universe), but I thought she wrote some of the other hits. I know the arrangements were built around her piano work and vocal, as in they just let her play and sing, then used the band to fill in space around her, rather than have her sing over an arrangement. Either way, a top notch talent.

Women not talented at music, just wow. Ella Fitzgerald is waiting in hell to whip some ass.
