I agree that it can lead to annoying (and dangerous) psychological quirks.
For instance, if I make an incorrect fold, but then villain hits his flush on the river anyhow, I think to myslef "Oh, thats OK". I no longer care so much that I played the hand wrong.
Knowing exactly what would have happened leads to results-orientated thinking, and I actively have to fight this sometimes.
