I agree, I think there are more worthy recipients of aid given the wealth of the USA.

Some of the areas hit by this hurricane are the poorest in the US, and well below the poverty level by both US and international standards. Despite the low standard of living in some areas of LA and MS, these states are among the highest US states in per capita charitable contributions... with charitable rates surpassing even the nordic countries. [sarcasm] So yeah, lets not consider lending a helping hand to those who are most likely to give to fellow man... people who give in times of need even when they dont have the slightest clue where Indonesia, India, or Sri Lanka are on a map [/sarcasm].
