It became a political/religious conversation, but it was not begun as such.

I just wanted to say I hereby pledge to collapse the skull of anyone who in any way interrupts, defiles, desecrates, or otherwise insults the memory of any dead friend or family member at their funeral.

I guess that's relatively political, sort of like Jeff Goldblum's "insect politics" from the movie The Fly.
