For an alternative view of Social Security, read the
Galveston model. This is
not a hypothetical. It is a real, working model that Republicans support.
But of course, a system that worked this well would disempower liberals. It would remove one of the favored weapons from their war chest of political division.
The President has made a bold offer -- if you
really believe the current system is better, you're welcome to hitch your wagon to that horse.
