Your laptop should be designed to run at 100% CPU usage without any problems. It will get pretty warm when going at full tilt for extended periods, but this is normal. Just make sure you don't block the vents. If it starts crashing/freezing when datamining, or feels even warmer than normal, then it might be overheating. If it's overheating and it's still under warranty, then it's faulty and you should be able to send it back to Dell to get it sorted.
