Default Phoenix area players untie! Sit and Go tournaments...

To all the players in the Phoenix metro area and those that drop by from time to time...

I had a long talk with one of the senior floor people at Fort McDowell last night. We talked about what we with Internet access refer to as a sit and go tournament. We talked about how and why and we both came to the idea that it might be possible.

I plan to speak to Mike (card room manager) about this in the near future. But before I even approach him about adding S&G tournaments to the line up at the Fort, I would like to have some customer weight behind the request.

Ultimately the actual costs and structures of the games will be in the hands of the casino. This means there maybe more vig/fees than we might ideally like to see, but the bottom line is that if this is going to work for all we might have to give up more than we are used to on the Internet with the standard 10% fee. But frankly there is no need for a fee much more than 10%, maybe 15% or 20% to cover drop and dealer.

The Fort is the ideal place to start this. With the computer board system, it would be VERY easy for the floor/management to manage to games. There is almost always two or three free tables and dealers. You go in swipe your card, sit a 3/6 or 4/8 game while you wait for the S&G tournament to fill up. Floor checks the list, calls the game, you play for an hour or two, and jump back on the list for another and go back to your 3/6 or 4/8 game.

If the Fort gets it running and starts drawing players, then the other rooms in town will have to do the same.

There are lots of things that could make it fail, but its worth a shot.

So if you are interested, please reply to this thread. Express your wants, desires and concerns. At some point I would like to present Mike with a list of players that would play, kind of like a petition.
