Well, I don't slow it down. I break a stack of 20 into 5 piles of four beforehand, so slinging out 4 or 8 white is as easy as pulling out two or four yellow.

With $4/8 I'm fine with either. 2 chip/4 chip doesn't create tiny-looking pots like 1 chip/2 chip. Sometimes if I have a few stacks of white (from moving up from $2/4), I make piles of eight.
I'm not as adamant as some on here (see above) about maximizing physical pot size, but it can't hurt right?
